Bumbu

Casper Reinders and Jaimie van Heije have combined their heart for culinary entrepreneurship and great passion for Indonesian cuisine, resulting in restaurant Bumbu Kitchen, located at five-star hotel NH Collection Doelen Amsterdam. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks right in the center of Amsterdam.

Chef Jaimie van Heije derives his inspiration form his grandmothers cooking style. Being that his grandparents are Indonesian, this versatile kitchen is very well known for the chef, growing up around the flavors from his grandmothers kitchen. On the menu appear stand alone dishes with an Indonesian inspired touch. Original spice combinations van be found on the menu with traditional Indonesian terms. It would not really be chef Jaimie is this wasn’t done in a perky, unique and creative way.

For the restaurants interior, Casper Reinders partnered up with Thijs Murree. The walls of the restaurant are painted in a shade of purple that was specially designed for Bumbu Kitchen. Dining is possible at either the bar that is attached to the kitchen, or one of the tables in the restaurant, which are all hand made. The famous NH Collection Doelen hotel, built in the 17th century, proudly stands on the banks of the Amstel river providing an amazing view over the canals of Amsterdam, therefore making it an ideally situated venue to dine in the Amsterdam city center.
